Buying Palimpsest

Plain terms for a plain deal. Palimpsest Free costs nothing, for good. These terms are about buying Pro, Studio or Producer.

Who sells it

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Palimpsest itself is made by your full legal name, trading as Palimpsest, your business address, Ireland (hello@palimpsestmusic.com).

Your licence

• When you buy, you get a licence key by email. It's for you: use it on all your own computers and in the web version, but please don't share it.
• Your songs are yours. Buying Palimpsest gives me no rights in anything you write, and I never receive your songs.

The ways to pay

• Yearly and monthly plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time with the link in your Paddle receipt, and the plan then runs to the end of the time you've paid for.
• Pay once is a single payment. It's yours for good, with three years of new features included.
• Prices include VAT and are shown in your own currency at checkout.

When a plan ends

• When a yearly plan ends, the paid tools keep working in the versions released while it was running. Newer versions need a renewal.
• After three years, a pay-once plan works the same way: everything you have keeps working, and newer versions need a renewal.
• When a monthly plan ends, Palimpsest goes back to Free.
• In every case, your songs and everything you made stay exactly as they are.

Trying first, and offers

• Everything can be tried free for 30 days from Settings in the app, once, with no card.
• Founding members (the first 500 buyers) pay 40% less for as long as their plan continues.
• Students and teachers pay half, with a code from me (see the prices page).
• Moving up to a bigger plan costs only the difference for the time left.

Refunds

If Palimpsest isn't right for you, you can have your money back within 14 days of buying, without giving a reason. Write to hello@palimpsestmusic.com, or contact Paddle through your receipt. This doesn't affect any other rights you have by law.

Updates and help

New versions come regularly and are free within your plan. Help is by email, and I answer as soon as I can.

Responsibility

What I'm responsible for if something goes wrong, in words your solicitor agrees. Please keep backups of your songs: the guide shows how. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer.

Law

These terms are under Irish law. If you're a consumer in another country, you keep the protections of the law where you live.
